Board members are scheduled to discuss a proposal urging the California Legislature to amend the CA Revenue and Taxation Code to allow cities and counties to implement a tax on income of individuals and corporations. Contra Costa County Taxpayers' Association Breakfast Meetings
Taxpayers' Associations are not just about taxes. They are about holding jurisdictions' feet to the fire to ensure public officials act responsibly and remain responsive to their constituents concerns. The Contra Costa County Taxpayers' Association is one of the most active of these organizations. They hold Monthly Friday Breakfast Meetings 7:45 to 9:00 am.

If approved by a majority of voters, Measure K on the November 2016 ballot would extend the current Measure A half-cent sales tax for an additional 20 years; even though Measure A does not expire until 2022. Measure K promises quite a bit with its projected annual $85 million, from affordable housing to fighting human trafficking.
